Karamba is a Finite Element plug-in for the Rhino plug-in
Grasshopper. It lets you interactively calculate the response of
three dimensional beam structures under the action of external
loads.
These are currently its main features:
calculation of the deflection of beam and truss structures
display of strains
circular tubes of variable diameter and wall thickness as elements
variable material stiffness and weight
nodal forces, equivalent nodal forces from distributed forces on meshes and gravity as loads
Karamba is fully embedded in the parametric environment of
Grasshopper. This makes it easy to combine parameterized geometric
models, Karamba and optimization algorithms like Galapagos.
